Frequently asked questions
Do QR codes expire?
Static QR codes never expire — the content is encoded in the pattern itself. A scan only stops working when the link it points to goes offline.
My code with a logo won't scan. What now?
Three things: use error correction level H, keep the logo under 25% of the code width, and keep strong contrast between foreground and background. This tool adds a white backing behind the logo automatically.
Which content formats are recognized when decoding?
WiFi (WIFI: format, with password extraction), URLs, email (mailto:), phone (tel:), SMS (sms:), geo locations, contact cards (vCard/MECARD) and calendar events (VEVENT). Anything else is shown as plain text.
Are uploaded images stored anywhere?
No. Decoding happens on a local canvas in your browser. The image never leaves your device and nothing remains after you close the tab.
